Isolation and Purification of RNA

  • Chapter
Basic Techniques in Molecular Biology

Part of the book series: Springer Lab Manuals ((SLM))

Abstract

Obtaining pure RNA is an essentia step in the analysis of patterns of gene expression and und the mechanism of gene expression. Thus, isolation of pure, intact RNA is one of the central techniques in molecular biology and represents an important step in Northern analysis, nuclease protection assays, RNA mapping, RT-PCR, cDNA library construction and in vitro translation experiments.
