Abstract

In this article we present the results of a simulation of an effectively 3- dimensional hydrodynamic jet. The parameters are chosen appropriate for a typical collimated outflow emanating from a young stellar object of low mass. It is the first step in a series of high resolution simulations that aim at separating the influence of the different processes that are thought to govern the physics of these objects. The simulations were performed on the SX-5 at HLRS.
