Zusammenfassung

Versteifungsoperationen an der Wirbelsäule werden seit über 100 Jahren mit wechselndem Erfolg durchgeführt. Die ersten Versuche für die operative Stabilisation von Wirbelsäulenabschnitten wurden erstmals 1891 von Hadra [19] bei einem Patienten mit einer dislozierten Fraktur der Halswirbelsäule beschrieben. Bei diesem Versuch der Stabilisation kam eine Drahtcerclage zum Einsatz.
