Zusammenfassung

Verletzungen der menschlichen Bauchhöhle treten im Allgemeinen als stumpfes Trauma oder Penetration auf, wobei ersteres als Folge von Strassenverkehrsunfällen häufiger vorkommt. Oft werden solche Verletzungen nicht sofort erkannt bzw. lassen sich äusserlich nicht erkennen. Die Untersuchung des biomechanischen Verhaltens des Abdomens hat sich als besonders schwierig herausgestellt und auch die erhaltenen Ergebnisse sind nicht leicht zu interpretieren. Daher mangelt es immer noch an ausreichendem Wissen über Verletzungsmechanismen und geeignete Verletzungskriterien. Dieser Mangel an Know-how zeigt sich beispielsweise auch bei den verschiedenen Crashtest-Dummys, die nur eine rudimentäre Nachbildung des Abdomens aufweisen.
