Zusammenfassung

Nach Satzerfassung des vorliegenden Buches erschien im LANCET (Pitt et al. (1997) Lancet 349: 747–752) die ELITE-Studie, in der geprüft werden sollte, ob der AT1-Rezeptorantagonist Losartan bezüglich Sicherheit und Wirksamkeit Vorteile gegenüber dem ACE-Inhibitor Captopril bei Patienten mit Herzinsuffizienz besitzt. Da die Ergebnisse überrascht haben, und um die Aktualität dieses Buches zu steigern, sollen nachfolgend die wichtigsten Ergebnisse dieser Studie dargestellt werden.
