Abstract

Frequently, mixtures must be condensed that are immiscible in the liquid phase. Examples are mixtures of an organic compound as one component, such as refrigerant R-112 or R-113, and perchloric ethylene or p-xylol as the other component. Mixtures of water, benzene, phenol, butyl alcohol, etc. are also immiscible as liquids. The previous findings on the condensation of vapors, whose components are miscible in the liquid phase, cannot be extended to this case.
