Heat Transfer During Boiling of Pure Substances in Forced Flow

  • Chapter
Heat Transfer in Condensation and Boiling

Part of the book series: International Series in Heat and Mass Transfer ((HEAT))

Abstract

Heat transfer during boiling of a liquid in free convection is essentially determined by the difference between heating surface temperature and boiling temperature, the properties of the liquid, and the properties of the heating surface. During boiling in forced flow, the flow velocities of the vapor and the liquid phases, and the phase distribution play an additional role.
