Zusammenfassung

Raumfordernde Prozesse der Sellaregion können entweder von den Zellen des Sellainhalts, d. h. vom Hypophysengewebe oder von extrahypophysären Strukturen, wie z. B. den Hirnhäuten, dem Gehirn oder dem Knochen ausgehen. Da fast ausschließlich Tumoren hypophysären Ursprungs (Adenome, Craniopharyngeome) zu neuroendokrinologischen Störungen [8] führen und zahlenmäßig bei weitem überwiegen [30], sollen die übrigen Tumoren nur im Rahmen der differentialdiagnostischen Überlegungen gestreift werden.
