Abstract
Cloud computing is slated to create a paradigm shift in computing experience. Cost savings and control over employee access by the IT groups within corporate, government, and educational institutions are some of the major drivers for the adoption of cloud computing. However, there are limitations to the extent to which workflows are moved to the cloud. The major roadblocks to extending the adoption of some of the workflows to the cloud include concerns about control over the (critical) data, compliance across geographies, and security issues. The paper will explore cloud computing life cycle and concerns about cloud computing from interviews with IT decision makers.
