Shoulder Concepts 2013: Consensus and Concerns

Abstract

The best results come from anatomic restoration of the normal shoulder anatomy. Most tears are amenable to repair with modern techniques. Biologic and mechanical enhancement of rotator cuff repair surgery remains a viable goal of all surgeons. Current advances in laboratory technology have shown to promote tendon healing but its precise role during rotator cuff repair is currently under investigation.
