Zusammenfassung

In den 1920ern erschien in der New York Times ein bemerkenswerter Artikel, in dem gesagt wurde, dass Raketen im Vakuum nicht funktionieren können, da im Vakuum nichts vorhanden wäre, das gegen die ausströmenden Gase drücken (Newtons drittes Gesetz actio = reactio) und somit die Rakete nicht nach vorne beschleunigt werden würde. Heute wissen wir, dass Raketen nichts zum Verdrängen brauchen und dadurch funktionieren, in dem sie Materie ausstoßen – kaum 40 Jahre später spielte Alan Shepard bei der Apollo-14-Mission Golf auf dem Mond.

Der Horizont der meisten Menschen ist ein Kreis mit dem Radius 0. Und das nennen sie ihren Standpunkt.
