Abstract

One of the commonest clinical conditions causing vertigo is the BPPV. It is seen in all age groups, but mainly the ageing population, though not necessarily so, as some younger patients with or without a history of head trauma may also present with it. About 0.6 % of the population is said to suffer with BPPV (Neuhauseur and Lampert 2009). This figure may vary in other parts of the world due to biological reasons. Epley's manouveur is currently the standard treatment.
