Abstract
There are minor technical difficulties encountered while performing otoplasty which are more of a nuisance than anything else. These include intrusion of hair into the operative field, disappearance of ink marks after tattooing the cartilage, and difficulty in application of the dressing with its tendency to slip postoperatively to name the most common ones.
Although quite minor, these difficulties are frequently associated with increased operating time and may compromise the end results. The authors describe a few simple tips that have help in our practice to overcome these difficulties and have helped to improve our outcome. The authors present methods to prevent the minor difficulties.
