Die proximale Humerusfraktur

Zusammenfassung

Infektionen nach Osteosynthesen und deren Folgen gehören nach wie vor zu den gravierendsten Komplikationen in der Traumatologie (Tiemann et al. 2011). Ihre Behandlung ist oft schwierig und langwierig. Von Patienten werden septische Komplikationen häufig als ärztliches Versagen empfunden (Abitzsch et al. 2010). Postoperative Infektionen erfordern die Erstellung eines strukturierten septisch-chirurgischen Behandlungskonzeptes, um die Entstehung einer chronischen Ostitis zu vermeiden. Die Gesamttherapiekosten einer chronischen Ostitis werden mit 700.000 € pro Fall angegeben, der volkswirtschaftliche Schaden ist somit immens (Tiemann et al. 2012).
