Abstract

The four types of the strength (cone) factors (Nkt, Nke, NΔu, Ne) in PCPT and the important geotechnical properties were investigated using the testing data for highly plastic soils. Sensitivity and undrained modulus were in proportion to the cone factors (normalized Su), but water content and void ratio presented the increasing tendency to the increase of the direct cone factors. The NΔu produced the reliable result with little data dispersion. The Ne was good in result but was not reasonable in dispersion.
