Abstract
In GORITE, no distinction is made between an agent and a team of agents in the sense that both have beliefs, desires and intentions. This modelling stance may seem unusual at first glance as we intuitively view team behaviour from an individual perspective, with team behaviour emerging from the contributions of individuals. However, if we abstract team member behaviour into roles, then team behaviour can be viewed as arising from a predefined interaction of roles, with individuals filling roles as in a play or a football side. Realization of team behaviour then requires a binding to be made between roles and individuals, but that process is separate from the definition of both the team behaviour and the individual behaviours.
