Abstract

Survivability of Wireless Sensor Network(WSN) can be defined as the capability to fulfill its mission in the presence of attacks, accidents and failures. In this paper, we propose a survivability model for cluster-based WSN, in which the state of each cluster is regarded as a stochastic process based on a semi-Markov process (SMP) and Discrete Time Markov Chain (DTMC). The isolation problem between clusters is discussed. Quantitive survivability is obtained based on k connectivity. Numerical results show our model is effective.
