Abstract

This work deals with the modelling and the achievement of some structural properties for a nonlinear fed-batch prototype bioprocess: an aerobic microbial growth process coupled with an enzyme-catalyzed reaction. As a modelling procedure, Bond Graph approach is used. The model structural properties are analyzed, such as the partition in linear and nonlinear parts, the decoupling of kinetics, etc. Numerical simulations of the evolution of fed-batch bioprocess are provided by using both 20sim and MATLAB environments.
