Abstract

This paper analyzes the gated polling multi-access communication system in discrete time. Analytical expressions of average queue length and message delay are obtained by using the imbedded Markov chain theory and the generations function. Simulations show the analysis is reasonable and the performance is enhanced comparing with ordinary gated polling systems.
