Abstract
Informatics is gradually emerging, in different forms, at the first level in primary schools. We have seen that informatics is often included in other subjects but only at the level of using digital technologies. At other times, it is inspired by teaching methods in mathematics and computer science tasks that are addressed on paper only. We are concerned with the concept, form and teaching methods of informatics. In addition to scientific content, we analyze the teaching of informatics from the perspective of various educational theories. We have built our theory on the activities of students who work with specialized educational software. Our conclusion is founded on the experiences and consequences of introducing informatics education to teaching at the first level of primary school.
