Abstract
Soft switch is the core technology of the next generation packet network, which realized call control function by software. IP-PBX is a typical application of soft-switching technology. Because of many advantages such as low cost, easy maintenance, etc, Asterisk-based IP-PBX system became more and more welcome to small and medium firms. The paper describes the modern soft-switching platform Asterisk, designs and implements a municipal call center.
