Part of the book series: Advances in Intelligent and Soft Computing ((AINSC,volume 97))

Abstract

Theory of the systems reliability is particularly applicable to electronic protection systems (alarm systems), which due to their specific character of use, should be characterised by the high level of reliability. The devices and electronic units applied in the wide range in those systems, the microprocessor systems in particular, require a new perspective on the reliability and the safety of the systems. The paper presents a reliability analysis of the electronic protection systems using optical links.
