Zusammenfassung

Die Psychophysiologie befasst sich mit den Zusammenhängen zwischen Denken, Fühlen, Verhalten und ihren physiologischen Korrelaten im menschlichen Organismus. Die Fortschritte der Neurowissenschaften, Endokrinologie, Immunologie und Molekularbiologie haben zu einem grossen Wissenszuwachs über die wechselseitigen Interaktionen zwischen psychischen Vorgängen und physiologischen Prozessen geführt. In diesem Kapitel können allerdings nur einige wenige Grundlagen behandelt werden, welche für die Psychosoziale Medizin von Bedeutung sind. Die Umsetzung psychischer Funktionszustände wie Kognitionen, Emotionen oder Verhaltensmuster in physiologische Reaktionen und Prozesse erfolgt im Wesentlichen mittels dreier Überträgersysteme, des vegetativen Nervensystems (VNS), des Neuroendokrinen Systems (NES) und des Neuroimmunologischen Systems (NIS). Nach der Darstellung einiger psychophysiologischer Grundlagen werden an den Themen Stress, Blutgerinnung, Essen, Sexualität und Schlaf die vielfältigen Interaktionen zwischen Psyche und Soma exemplarisch dargestellt. Den Abschluss des Kapitels bilden Informationen zum Körperschema bzw. Körperbild und zu Entspannungsverfahren.
