Zusammenfassung

Mit dem Begriff Angiopathia traumatica retinae beschrieb O. Purtscher ursprünglich hämorrhagische und ischämische Netzhautveränderungen nach Schädel-Hirn-Trauma. Die Bezeichnung Retinopathia traumatica Purtscher wurde in der Definition zunächst erweitert um entsprechende Retinopathien nach Augen fernen Traumata, Thoraxkompressionen und Frakturen langer Röhrenknochen eingeschlossen. Im weiteren Sinne wird heute der Begriff Purtscher Retinopathie (oder Purtscher ähnliche Retinopathie) gebraucht für vergleichbare Netzhautveränderungen im Rahmen nicht-traumatischer Grunderkrankungen wie Kollagenosen sowie Nieren- und Pankreaserkrankungen.
