Zusammenfassung

Spezifische Phobien zeichnen sich durch eine dauerhafte, extreme und kulturell unangepasste Angst vor bestimmten Objekten oder Situationen aus, die objektiv keine Gefahr darstellen. In der Folge vermeiden die Betroffenen die Angst auslösenden Situationen bzw. Objekte. Die Bezeichnung »spezifisch« bezieht sich auf die Tatsache, dass die gefürchteten Objekte bzw. Situationen vom Patienten in der Regel klar benannt und eingegrenzt werden können.
