Abstract
Using as a basis the analysis of the state of the art of Chapter 3, the review of innovative applications of Chapter 4 and the Market Analysis of Chapter 5, we present now the trends and gaps in Cooperating Objects research. Additionally, we discuss the results of the CONET survey conducted among experts that indicate the importance of the research areas and the approximate time where the gaps are expected to be solved. Finally, we identify the predominant work areas that will need attention in the next years.
