Abstract
Single-photon emission tomography (SPECT) combined with computed tomography (CT) aims to provide an accurate spatial alignment between the two separate data sets into one fused image. The resultant information goes beyond that achievable with either stand-alone or side-by-side interpretation of the data sets, and beyond the information derived from attenuation correction (AC), with an equal contribution of both data sets to the image information.
