Similitude between Model and Full Scale Piles

  • Chapter
Behavior of Pipe Piles in Sand

Part of the book series: Springer Series in Geomechanics and Geoengineering ((SSGG))

Abstract

This chapter presents an introduction to similitude and the scaling laws involved in modeling pile driving. The capabilities and limitations of the developed apparatus in modeling the installation and behavior of pile foundations are presented.
