Abstract
We have defined the association rule ϕ ≈ ψ with general 4ft-quantifier ≈. There exist various practically important 4ft-quantifiers defined in connection to the GUHA procedure ASSOC. These are introduced in Sect. 4.1. There is also a possibility to use various measures of interestingness of association rules together with suitable thresholds for their values to define additional 4ft-quantifiers. An overview of well known measures of interestingness is given in Sect. 4.2. In Sect. 4.3, these measures of interestingness are used to define additional 4ft-quantifiers. Practical experience has led to the definition of so called founded and supported versions of 4ft-quantifiers and also to the use of combinations of particular 4ft-quantifiers. We call such 4ft-quantifiers as compound 4ft-quantifiers. Founded, supported and compound 4ft-quantifiers are introduced in Sect. 4.4.
