Abstract
Our solar system is dominated by the sun, by far the most massive body within it, and around which all other solar system objects orbit. Far from being an isolated star ploughing its way alone through the vast expanses of theGalaxy, there are many smaller objects under its direct and eternal gravitational control which accompany it on its celestial journey.
You teach your daughters the diameters of the planets and wonder when you are done that they do not delight in your company.
Samuel Johnson (1709–1784)
