Abstract
The coexistence of bronchial asthma, persistent rhinosinusitis/nasal polyp, and analgesic intolerance is called as Samter’s syndrome or aspirin-induced or analgesic-induced asthma. This condition should be investigated especially if the asthma is severe and/or the polyps are recurrent. There seems to be no ideal curative treatment modality for nasal polyposis. Similar results are reported after medical or surgical polypectomy. Recurrence is possible and frequent with both methods. Aspirin desensitization can be applied as a complementary treatment option. Although some patients improve with this method, long-term results are not yet known.
