Abstract
There is little or no information available about the conditions in pediatric critical care units (PICUs) and a paucity of information on management of pediatric mechanical ventilation in North Africa. The aim of this section is to analyze the current reality of pediatric respiratory intensive care and to describe the practical aspects of mechanical ventilation management in Tunisia and Algeria, two North African countries part of the Maghreb, region in North Africa situated between the Mediterranean Sea, the Sahara, and Atlantic Ocean.
