Zusammenfassung
Botulinumtoxin ist ein Neurotoxin, das von dem Bakterium Clostridium botulinum, einem geraden, peritrich begeißelten Stäbchenbakterium, produziert wird. Es stellt das derzeit potenteste Neurotoxin dar. Es existieren 7 verschiedene Serotypen (A-G). In der Neurologie und der plastischen Chirurgie wird die Wirkung von Botulinumtoxin A und B schon seit längerer Zeit genutzt [1]. Auch im Bereich der Endourologie gewinnt die transurethrale Injektion von Botulinumtoxin A in den M. detrusor vesicae zunehmend an Bedeutung [2,3].
