Abstract

Ferromagnetic coupling of a monolayer of Fe-porphyrin molecules to ferromagnetic films is revealed by x-ray magnetic circular dichroism X-ray magnetic circular dichroism measurements. By means of thickness- and temperature-dependent investigations the range and the strength of the coupling to Ni and Co films is analyzed. Element-specific hysteresis curves demonstrate that the Fe-spins in the molecules can be switched by reversing the magnetization of the ferromagnetic films.
