Abstract
As the result of survey about the European Intelligent robot landscape 2007, AR&T studied and visited main robot research institutes in Germany. On my opinion there are no leading institutes of robot research but some of them are world class. In German institute of robot there are three categories, e.g. beginner, middle and world class. In general all German institutes have problem in aspect of commercialization, the transition of basic research to commercial products. As you know Germany is known for quality machine and precision industries. What will happen if Germany does not focus on the development of the intelligent machine industries? The German digital camera industry may be the example. The time for robotics is now! This presentation shows an overview about the research landscape of German robot 2007.
