Es ist mir eine große Freude, Sie heute hier zu begrüßen. Der Münchner Kreis, den meisten von Ihnen vielleicht dem Namen nach bekannt, ist eine gemeinnützige, supranationale Vereinigung, die seit über 30 Jahren existiert und zahlreiche Veranstaltungen im In- und Ausland zum Thema der neuen Informations- und Kommunikationstechnologien und deren Anwendung, Märkte, Regulierung sowie gesellschaftlichen Bedeutung durchgeführt hat. Dabei verfolgt er das Prinzip, die Perspektiven der Wissenschaft, der Wirtschaft, der Politik und der Medien eng zu verzahnen. Er bildet eine neutrale Plattform, um die aufkommenden Fragen bei den Innovationsschüben frühzeitig zu identifizieren und so zu beeinflussen, dass sie möglichst gedeihlich für Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft gelöst werden können. Wir haben Veranstaltungen in verschiedenen Ländern wie Japan, USA und natürlich Deutschland abgehalten und freuen uns, heute hier in Brüssel sein zu können. Lassen Sie mich einige wenige einführende Bemerkungen zur heutigen Veranstaltung machen.
