Abstract
We have measured optical transmittance through germanium in the mid-infrared region, λ = 6 µm − 12 µm, using a free electron laser (FEL) at Osaka University. We find that the transmission is strongly suppressed under high-intensity FEL excitation. We also find that the FEL wavelength dependence of the transmission spectrum is very weak.
