Abstract
In previous chapters of this part of the book we considered only static problems related to a description of electro-elastic coupling fields induced by various sources in a series of bounded structures. Below we shall discuss a principally different type of coupled fields, which arise not due to sources but as eigenwaves in structures of the same types. We shall consider two examples of such eigenwaves: magneto-elastic surface waves in a bicrystalline gap structure and electro-elastic waveguide SH waves in a piezoelectric plate. Our attention will be concentrated on the very peculiar resonance phenomenon in the vicinity of the corresponding leaky wave solutions which provide an efficient method of excitation of both types of eigenwaves.
