Zusammenfassung
Prozesse der Aneignung von Medien als Inhalte und Technologien durch die alltäglichen Praktiken der Menschen und die damit verbundene Konstruktion von Bedeutungen stellen innerhalb der Medienstudien der Cultural Studies das wohl am besten theoretisch und empirisch durchdrungene Feld dar. In den Cultural Studies ist mit den Begriffen der Aneignung und Alltagswelt dabei eine Abkehr von Vorstellungen verbunden, die auf bloße Reproduktion des Bestehenden verweisen, das heißt dominante Herrschaftsformen, Lesarten oder Sozialbeziehungen. Stattdessen werden Praktiken des Widerstands und des Eigensinns im Alltag in der Auseinandersetzung mit und in der Aneignung von Medien untersucht.
