Zusammenfassung
Es heißt, die Geschichte wird von den Siegern geschrieben, doch wurde im westlichen Kulturkreis in den letzten zwanzig Jahren ein systematischer Umkehrprozess dieses Prinzips zunehmend erkennbar. Nicht Siegeszügen, sondern Leidenswegen galt immer mehr öffentliche Aufmerksamkeit und die „Versuchung der Unschuld“ (Bruckner 1995) — die Beanspruchung einer Opferstellung in individueller, sozialgruppenspezifischer oder weltpolitischer Hinsicht — wurde zur Grundlage einer inflationären gesellschaftlichen Viktimisierung, die gerichtlich geltend und wieder gut gemacht werden musste.
