Um unternehmensinterne und -externe Veränderungen frühzeitig erkennen und eventuell sogar prognostizieren zu können, müssen den Entscheidungsträgern aller Unternehmensbereiche zum richtigen Zeitpunkt alle relevanten Daten und Informationen zur Verfügung stehen. Auf dieser Grundlage sowie der Erfahrung der Entscheidungsträger werden operative, taktische und strategische Entscheidungen getroffen, deren Qualität für die weitere Entwicklung eines Unternehmens maßgeblich ist.
