Zusammenfassung

„Was die Weltwirtschaft angeht, so ist sie verflochten“(Tucholski 1931). Schöner kann man es nicht ausdrücken. Indikatoren der Verflechtung sind der Waren- und Dienstleistungshandel, die Direktinvestitionen, die Produktion und die Finanzströme. Tucholsky hatte natürlich vor fast 75 Jahren sicherlich auch nicht ansatzweise eine Vision von den heutigen weltwirtschaftlichen Strukturen. Zu den 100 größten wirtschaftlichen Einheiten der Welt zählen nur noch 49 Länder, die übrigen sind Konzerne. Der Umsatz von DaimlerChrysler entspricht dem BIP Polens, der von WalMart dem BIP Österreichs. Ein Drittel des Welthandels ist Intra-Firmen-Handel, ein weiteres Drittel Interfirmenhandel zwischen globalen Konzernen,1 und nur ein Drittel ist “klassischer” Welthandel.
