Zusammenfassung

Das Verhältnis von Types zu Tokens von Wörtern eines Texts wird im einfachsten Fall als Index berechnet, der die Gesamtzahl aller verschiedenen Wörter (Types) zu der Anzahl aller Wortvorkommen (Tokens, Textlänge) in Beziehung setzt. Traditionell wird dieser Index in Bereichen der Literaturwissenschaft und der linguistischen Stilistik als Textcharakteristikum betrachtet, das textsorten- und autorenspezifisch ist und zu Textvergleichen herangezogen werden kann.
