Zusammenfassung
Im Folgenden geht es mir darum, den Sinn und Nutzen der philosophischen Ontologie im Anwendungsbereich Informatik und besonders der Wirtschaftsinformatik zu verdeutlichen und die impliziten Probleme darzustellen, die durch unausgesprochene weltanschauliche Implikationen schon immer vorhanden sind. Ich bin der Auffassung, dass die philosophische Ontologie die Definition der Domäne unterstützen kann, weil sie einerseits die Anordnung der Entitäten unabhängig vom Kontext vornimmt und weil sie andererseits durch die Kategorisierung die Stringenz der inhaltlichen Ordnung fördert. Folglich ist sie geeignet, spezifische Domänen aufzufächern.
