Zusammenfassung

Viele der aktuellen Diskussionen zur Erweiterung der Europäischen Union kreisen um die organisatorischen Probleme, die dieser Schritt für die Union mit sich bringt. Im Vordergrund steht hierbei u.a. die sich abzeichnende Notwendigkeit zur Änderung der gemeinsamen Agrarpolitik der Gemeinschaft (Anderson/Tyers 1993, Hartmann 1995, Bojnec 1996), das grundsätzliche Problem einer Integration sozialproduktschwacher Staaten (Grabbe/ Hughes 1998:90–108) und die bei einem so erweiterten Teilnehmerkreis zu erwartende Reorganisation der EU (Gabrisch 1995, Dauderstädt 1998).
