Abstract
Two aspects of criminal justice have been at the forefront of American politics in the recent years. The first is police officers’ use of deadly force, which came under increased public scrutiny as videos emerged, often taken by bystanders with smart phones, of people—primarily black men—being injured and killed by police officers under dubious circumstances.
