Abstract

Healthcare providers are members of the larger society and will be profoundly affected by the value-based transformation of health care. The healthcare workforce of the twenty-first century must be capable of managing increasingly complex patient populations utilizing new care models. It must foster the skills to work collaboratively in inter-professional teams supplied with technological and system supports. Healthcare providers must also be able to work collaboratively with patients in a shared effort to promote better health.
