Abstract

Medical travel facilitators have strong role to play as a connecting link between various components and subcomponents of the medical tourism system. They act as an important source of information for prospective consumers and establish professionalisation of medical tourism industry. This chapter evaluates the role of medical travel facilitators in this context. Results show that Kolkata medical tourism industry is far behind its counterparts. Most of the facilitators are working informally thereby reflecting on the existence of a loose coordination among the stakeholders of the industry.
