Abstract

As described in throughout this book, intervention effectiveness research, quality improvement activities, and program evaluation concepts may be operationalized based on PIO MM using worksheets and statements; implemented using standard methods; and disseminated to a broad audience through reports, presentations, and publications. This chapter examines the cyclical process of evaluating interventions, changing practice based on that evaluation, and re-evaluating again. This is an on-going, never-ending process because evidence changes, individuals respond in diverse ways to interventions in the real world, and health care quality must be continually updated. Every project should set the stage for the next study or evaluation.
