Abstract
We present the empirical framework that we employ when conducting our principle analysis. Specifically, we present a baseline econometric model and a series of closely-related regression specifications. Discussion of the choice of explanatory variables is coupled with the presentation of the empirical model, the included variables, and the estimation techniques that we employ. Finally, as motivation for the analysis to follow, we also review the findings obtained from the examination of a series of survey questions that provide insights into public opinion on immigrants and immigration, international trade, and FDI inflows.
